How JAKE PAUL will change Boxing.
We have all heard about the sport boxing before. We also know it is not the most popular sport in the world when it comes to viewership. Even though we have popular and well-viewed fights from fighters like Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua, there are only a few names that can get the most views into the sport. One of the upcoming names is Jake Paul.
Naturally, he is not an organic boxer. That was never his destiny or plan. He gathered his success by being one of the largest social media stars in the world. From acting in a Disney TV series to making vlogs that averaged millions of views per video, to building multi-million-dollar businesses on the side. Within the past two years, he has dived into the sport of boxing.
How did this happen?
Famous UK Youtuber, KSI, fought a fellow UK Youtuber, Joe Weller, a few years ago. After KSI won that fight, he called out Jake Paul as well as his brother Logan Paul. The Paul brothers were at the top of the food chain when it came to clout, money, and marketing in the social media world. This call-out built a future fight between KSI vs Logan Paul, as well as Jake Paul vs Deji (KSI’s little brother).
Jake Paul won his first fight against Deji. This led to a second fight against another UK Youtuber, AnEsonGib. Jake Paul showed a superior change in his fighting and took another win, this won counted towards his professional record. Making his record 1–0.
Why is this good for boxing?
These social media stars bring millions of new fans and viewers to the sport. It’s simple, boxing has been falling off in viewership, but these stars brought new fans that regenerated the hype and excitement to boxing.
From all of the stars, Jake Paul has been the only one to consistently put an actual focus in the sport. He has been training in and out of boxing camp and constantly stays in shape, whereas his brother Logan Paul will stop training if there is a not a fight to prepare for. Jake Paul has shown he wants to be the largest prizefighter in the world and will make sure all of his energy is put towards building his professional record and putting on spectacular performances.
His next fight is November 28th, 2020, when he will be boxing former NBA Dunk Champion, Nate Robinson. This fight is the co-main event for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. As of November 20th, 2020, this fight is set to be the most viewed boxing fight ever in history. You can only imagine how many eyes will be on Jake Paul followed by Mike Tyson. Jake Paul is set himself up for a career in boxing and we are excited to see the outcome of his fight.
